The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has recently been named to WardsAuto as part of their 10 best interiors list. Although Chrysler is not traditionally considered a luxury brand, the new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica does feature some luxurious elements to its interior like a stowaway vacuum cleaner and ventilated premium leather seats. Usually this list is full of expensive luxury vehicles– like BMW, Audi, and Lexus– but this year, Drew Winter, director-content at WardsAuto shared why the list included more mainstream vehicles like the Chrysler Pacifica, “It’s important that the Wards 10 Best Interiors list include mainstream, affordable vehicles, but the average price of a new vehicle in the U.S. has risen past $33,000, which is forcing us to reconsider how we define mainstream, affordable vehicles.”
Eight WardsAuto Editors spent February and March evaluating 47 interiors of eligible vehicles to determine the winners. In order to be eligible, an interior must be significantly redesigned, and judging is scored based on aesthetics & design harmony, materials, ergonomics, safety, comfort, value, fit-&-finish, as well as the user-friendliness of the human-machine interface to see how effectively vehicle information is communicated.
